Asian Sirloin Tips with Garlic Noodles

Ingredients

Steak

  • 1 pound sirloin steak tips
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Garlic Noodles

  • 3 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Sliced green onions / scallions

Instructions

  1. Trim and cube the sirloin tips. Slice half a red onion into quarters. Chop garlic cloves.
  2. Measure 3 cups uncooked egg noodles.
  3. Boil salted water and add the egg noodles and set timer for 9 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a separate large saucepan or skillet, heat the olive oil, soy sauce, and butter.
  5. Add the beef with the red onion and garlic over med-high heat. Add the kosher salt and black pepper and stir.
  6. Heat the beef mixture and stir until cooked through to 145 degrees.
  7. When the noodles are cooked, drain and set aside. Add the soy sauce, butter, garlic powder, sesame oil, and garlic powder to the same pot.
  8. Stir the cooked noodles back in the pot and stir over medium heat to steam a few minutes and remove from heat.
  9. Serve the beef mixture over the garlic noodles and garnish with sliced green onion scallions.
