Spicy Sesame Chicken & Hokkien Noodle Stir-Fry

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 (7.1 oz) pouch of Hokkien stir-fry noodles
  • 1 cup broccoli, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Sambal Oelek chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped


  1. Prepare Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, light brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, Sambal Oelek chili paste, and minced ginger until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Prep Ingredients:
    • Dice the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
    • If not already chopped, prepare your broccoli and chives accordingly.
  3. Cook Chicken:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil over medium heat in a large skillet or wok. Add the diced chicken and sauté for approximately 10 minutes or until no longer pink.
  4. Cook Broccoli:
    • Add the chopped broccoli to the skillet with the chicken. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the broccoli is tender but still vibrant in color.
  5. Add Sauce:
    • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and broccoli mixture. Allow it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to coat the ingredients evenly.
  6. Add Noodles:
    • Stir in the Hokkien noodles, ensuring they are well incorporated into the stir-fry. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
  7. Garnish & Serve:

Stir in the sauce mix to simmer a couple minutes.

Stir in the hokkien noodles and cook another couple minutes and remove from heat.
