Ingredients
For the Beef & Broccoli
8 ounces top sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
1 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot starch
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil (for stir-frying)
4 cups broccoli florets
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1–2 tbsp water (for steaming broccoli)
For the Sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
½ tsp chili garlic sauce or red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)
For the Cauliflower Rice
1 medium head cauliflower (or 4 cups pre-riced)
1 tbsp olive oil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Splash of soy sauce for flavor
Instructions
Prep the Beef
- Toss the sliced beef in a bowl with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp cornstarch.
- Let marinate for at least 10 minutes while prepping other ingredients.
Make the Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients. Set aside.
Cook the Cauliflower Rice
- Grate the cauliflower using a box grater or food processor if not using pre-riced.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add cauliflower rice and sauté 5–7 minutes until tender.
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder or a splash of soy sauce.
- Set aside and keep warm.
Cook the Beef
- Heat 1 tbsp sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- Sear the beef in a single layer (in batches if needed) for 1–2 minutes per side until browned and just cooked. Remove and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Broccoli
- In the same pan, add a splash of oil if needed.
- Add the broccoli with the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add 1–2 tbsp water and cover for 1–2 more minutes to steam until crisp-tender.
Bring It All Together
- Return beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
Serve
- Spoon over warm cauliflower rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, or a drizzle of chili oil if desired.
