Cajun Onion Chicken Burgers with Yogurt Avocado Garlic Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 finely diced shallot
  • Sliced red onion
  • Red leaf lettuce
  • 4 Brioche buns

Avocado Yogurt Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Add Cajun seasoning, dried parsley, paprika, cumin, onion powder, and garlic powder to ground chicken in a mixing bowl.
  2. Finely dice 1 shallot or 1/4 red onion and stir in.
  3. Form into 4 balls and use a burger press to make 4 patties.
  4. Grill at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165. If you don’t have a grill, cook in a skillet over medium heat.

Serving

  1. Toast the buns on the grill or in a pan for a few minutes.
  2. Top with prepared yogurt avocado sauce, red onion, and green leaf lettuce.
