Ingredients
Pizza Crust
- 1 cup of warm water 105-110 degrees
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Honey BBQ Sauce
- 1/2 cup organic ketchup (no fructose)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Toppings
- 1 pound thick cut bacon, diced
- 2 chicken breasts, diced
- 1 red onion, diced
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
Instructions
Pizza Crust
- Add the warm water, sugar, and yeast to a mixing bowl and stir. Let it sit about 5 minutes or it becomes frothy.
- Add the olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix together with a dough hook about 5 minutes until the dough becomes sticky, adding flour a tablespoon at a time as needed to firm up the dough to become elastic. Add the Italian seasoning while mixing the dough.
- Form the dough into a ball and leave in the mixing bowl to rise about 15 minutes while preparing the sauce and toppings.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Brush a pizza pan with oil and form the dough in the pan.
Honey BBQ Sauce
- Stir ingredients together in a saucepan and simmer on low heat until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat to let cool.
Toppings
- Dice the bacon and chicken breasts into bite size pieces.
- Add the bacon and chicken to a skillet and heat to med-high. Let cook covered about 5 minutes.
- Add the Cajun seasoning and stir in. Cook about 5 minutes more until the chicken is cooked and bacon is becoming crisp.
- Dice 1 red onion.
- Shred the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Assembly
- Spread the honey BBQ sauce evenly over the dough.
- Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add the chicken and bacon.
- Add the red onion over top.
- Add the shredded mozzarella and the other half of the cheddar.
