For Stir Fry
1 pound boneless pork loin chops, thinly sliced
2 pears, cored and thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

For Sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey

Preparation

  • Thinly slice the pork, pears, bell pepper, and onion into even strips for quick cooking.
  • Mince the garlic, grate the ginger, and chop the green onions for garnish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and honey until smooth.
  • Cook the rice according to package directions and keep warm.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the pork in a single layer and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until browned and just cooked through. * Remove to a plate.
  • Add a little more oil if needed, then cook the onion and bell pepper for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  • Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced pears and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until just tender but not mushy.
  • Return the pork to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce.
  • Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce bubbles and lightly thickens, coating all ingredients.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Serving

  • Spoon hot rice into bowls.
  • Top with the pork stir-fry and extra sauce from the pan.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  • Serve immediately while hot.
