Ginger Lime Chicken Marinade

Zesty lime and ginger marinade with garlic and soy sauce for a flavorful blend of savory and citrus notes.

This ginger lime chicken marinade is a zesty and flavorful blend of savory and citrusy notes. The combination of soy sauce, lime juice, and lime zest provides a tangy and refreshing taste, while the fresh ginger adds a mild heat and depth of flavor. The minced garlic enhances the savory notes, and the black pepper adds a hint of spice to round out the marinade. When used to marinate chicken, this mixture produces a mouthwatering dish that is perfect for grilling or baking.

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Ensure the ginger is freshly grated and the garlic is finely minced.

Combining Ingredients:

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the soy sauce, vegetable oil, lime zest, fresh lime juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, and black pepper.

  • Whisk the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are well-combined.

  • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  • Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours in the refrigerator for best results.

  • Once marinated, cook the chicken as desired, whether grilling, roasting, or pan-frying.

Tip: For an added kick, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the marinade. Always discard any leftover marinade that has come into contact with raw meat.
