Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced (remove seeds for a milder flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

Preparing the Avocados

Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.

Mashing

Add salt and freshly squeezed lime juice. Mash with a fork or potato masher until the desired consistency is reached (chunky or smooth).

Adding Flavor

Stir in minced garlic, chopped cilantro, diced jalapeño, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Mix until evenly combined.

Chilling

Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it against the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to meld flavors.

Serving

Stir before serving. Enjoy with tortilla chips.

Tip

For extra texture or sweetness, fold in diced tomatoes or red onions. Add a splash of hot sauce for an extra zing.
