½ teaspoon paprika

½ cup green or red bell pepper, chopped (optional)
¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1¾ cups flour, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon instant yeast.
- Pour in ½ cup warm water and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
Prepare the Beef Topping
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 pound ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir in ½ cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon mustard, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon paprika, plus salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Pizza
- Set oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
- On a floured surface, stretch or roll dough into a 12-inch round. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza peel dusted with cornmeal.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border.
- Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
- Add optional toppings if desired: ½ cup mozzarella, ½ cup chopped bell pepper, ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion.
Bake & Finish
- Slide pizza into the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, slice, and enjoy hot!
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles (about 6-8 minutes). Drain excess grease.
Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and set aside.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thinness. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling. Squirt a desired amount of ketchup and yellow mustard over the dough.
Spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
If using, add mozzarella cheese, bell pepper, and red onion.
Carefully transfer the pizza (using the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
